DUFOUR 38 CLASSIC GTE - A FAMILY CRUISER THAT STILL LIKES TO SAIL FAST

Built by DUFOUR YACHTS, this 2001 38 Classic GTE reflects the yard’s philosophy: a comfortable cruising yacht, sea-kindly and quick enough to keep a good average. Three cabins, six berths and steadily updated equipment make her ready for family cruising, from coastal hops to longer passages. Priced at €72,000 VAT paid, she sails under FRANCE flag.

Construction and seakeeping

The polyester hull measures 11.64 m with a 3.85 m beam and 1.90 m draft, displacing 6,800 kg for a settled feel in a breeze. The deck is GRP - fibreglass and the cockpit sole is teak. The sail wardrobe is complete: mainsail, Delta Voile genoa from January 2021, spinnaker with its dedicated rig and bowsprit, storm jib, mainsail track and car, backstay and halyard turning blocks. The boom carries lazy jacks and a lazy bag from 2024.

Power and life on board

The 40 hp VOLVO MD 2040, raw water cooled, shows 2,100 hours. At 6 knots cruising for around 2 l/h, the 110-litre fuel tank gives comfortable range under power, backed by 340 litres of fresh water. Below, three cabins and six berths surround a practical saloon with hot water, 2023 hob and oven, refrigerator serviced in April 2020, radio/hi-fi and television. The cockpit is protected by a sprayhood, with cockpit table, bimini and harbour cover; bathing ladder and deck shower complete the picture.
