In the Markermeer, you can experience the islands of the Marker Wadden. Marker Wadden is a large project that ensures the restoration of the nature of the Markermeer. A new nature was created by building natural islands with sand, clay and silt from the Markermeer. Both under and above water. Lelystad, the capital of the Dutch province of Flevoland, lies between the Markermeer, Gooimeer and Veluwemeer. The historic port city (reachable in 20 - 30 minutes) inspires thousands of tourists every year with its charm, the historic buildings and monuments as well as the numerous water sports opportunities.
The medieval Hanseatic city of Harderwijk is about a 25-minute drive away. Here you will find numerous historical buildings, many monuments and also a whole range of impressive star restaurants.
